Came in after multiple visits with my previous dentist for an unresolved issue… right away, Dr. Sri ran tests that my previous dentist didn’t and came up with a solution right then and there. As well as a plan B, if this ends up not resolving. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming and reassuring. Definitely my new dental practice!

Needed urgent help on broken crowns on upper front. Was scheduled quickly, diagnosed and left with temporaries while waiting for final set of crowns which came in in about a week. Fit perfectly and matched rest of mouth 100%! Got a cleaning too which was just as professional and thorough! Love the staff and the vibe. Friendly, accommodating and terrific work ethic. Will be back!

Your First Dental Visit
Routine dental exams are a big part of maintaining a healthy smile. County Dental at New City offers comprehensive dental exams for the entire family as part of our preventative dentistry program. At each exam, we check for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and other potential problems that require treatment. X-rays of your mouth may also be taken during your dental exam. We provide both traditional x-rays and digital x-rays that immediately produce a digital image that can be viewed during your visit on our computer screens in each operatory.
Preventative Dental Care
During your initial examination, we will look for common warning signs of periodontal disease and evaluate the condition of the gums, noting any recession, bleeding, or bone loss. We will also evaluate your risk factors for gum disease, such as diabetes, smoking, and the use of certain medications. If you do exhibit signs of gum disease, we will create a customized treatment plan to reduce the infection and reverse the progression of the disease. Unlike other practices that refer you elsewhere for periodontal treatment, County Dental has an experienced periodontist on staff who is available at all of our New York locations.
Cosmetic Fillings
Cosmetic dental fillings provide a natural look and feel of tooth enamel. County Dental at New City uses fillings to restore teeth damaged by dental caries and tooth decay. Cosmetic dental fillings are synthetic composite, which is made to match the color of your teeth, blending in with your smile. Cosmetic dental fillings are strong and durable and will enable you to restore your smile to its natural brilliance. Dental caries are caused by microorganisms that convert sugars in food to acids, which erode the enamel of a tooth, creating a hole or cavity. The dentist cleans out the decayed part of the tooth and fills the opening to protect the tooth’s structure and restore the appearance and utility of the tooth.
Why Routine Visits?
Routine dental exams and X-rays are a big part of Preventive dentistry. Preventive dentistry is the area of dentistry that focuses on those procedures and life practices that help people to prevent the beginning or progression of oral disease. It includes at-home dental care, as well as scheduling routine dental care visits and education by our professional dental staff in our dental office. Routine dental exams are a big part of maintaining a healthy teeth and gums.
What is Root Canal?
Pulp provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth. When the pulp inside a tooth is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don’t remove the pulp, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After the dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. A protective porcelain crown is placed by the dentist to strengthen the tooth and prolong its use. The procedure involves one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!
Warning Signs and Causes
Deep decay due to an untreated cavity
Multiple dental procedures on the same tooth
A chip or crack in the tooth
An injury to the tooth such as being hit in the mouth by a ball or a fist
(even if the injury does not crack the tooth, it can still hurt the pulp)
